Our cat Franklin passed away suddenly and far too soon. We love our darling baby so much and he had so much about him that was unique and special. There’s so much to say about him that we decided to do a series where we share every day something that we loved about him or a story or aspect of his life that stands out. I hope this will help our friends and family understand how much he meant to us, how devastating it feels to have lost him, and so that others can join us in celebrating his brief, amazing life.

I am making a commitment as much to myself as to you as the reader to make a post each day for at least the next 99 days, or however long it takes to share everything we can about him and our life together.

It has been really hard to lose him. I keep thinking he’ll be just around the corner, just taking a nap or popping out to see what I’m up to. Franklin was part of everything – making coffee, when he would supervise me making espresso, to taking out the trash, when he’d run outside for “hall time”, and even sitting at my desk where he would always jump up and try to surprise me. He had a hell of a personality and a life.

We love him so much and we hope that this series is a celebration. It’s obviously really sad but at the same time we want people to take away some of the joy and silliness that he delivered with so much charm.
